Nostalgia
Four pictures from the good old days with real grocers !

Ye Olde Grocer’s Yard, about 1950

Arial photos were popular in those days.

The new grocer,s yard was built in 1947. Porch to the far right and vegetable garden to the rear.
To the right you will see the gravel road leading to the back of the new shop, where animal feeds were stored.

The first garden pavilion, built from margarine boxes, about 1930

The persons are the parents of grocer Marius Nielsen, Sofie and Niels Peter Nielsen.
When the new groser’s shop was built in 1947, all the surplus soil was dumped in the lake behind the pavillion to increase the garden. The pavillion is in the exact same spot as to-days, (notice how openly the church is situated).

Grocer Nielsen’s (Senior) relatives in a horse cart (Kirsten and Anna Lund). They later lived across the church by to-days parking lot.

In the car by the first grocer’s shop is pictured grocer Nielsen,s daughter and son-in-law (Meta and Poul Larsen).

To the rear is the red-painted storage hall for fuel, animal feeds, building materials etc. (Year unknown).
